Elyse is a Diné woman, and a part of the fourth generation to caretake her family homestead in Oak Springs, Arizona. She is also one of many generations to continue the prayers and ceremonies of her people. Elyse believes in creating a world that cares for our whole being. She has worked with Indigenous communities for over 10 years to shift and amplify their voices to be dominant within public narratives. She sees this as critical work for the perseverance of all Indigenous people and the worlds that they cherish. In her current work, she centers the lived experiences of Indigenous people and the approach to wealth building as it pertains to the creative exploration of Indigenous capital (i.e. language, culture, teachings, etc.).
