Empowering Through Education and
Field-Building
We provide comprehensive support for aspiring and active fund managers committed to reimagining finance as a tool for economic justice and community development.
Our Approach
We equip aspiring and active fund managers with the knowledge, tools, and community needed to drive transformative change in finance. Through field-building and education programs, we provide hands-on learning, mentorship, and peer engagement that foster fresh perspectives on trust-based investing, balance risk and return, and democratize ownership and decision-making. By supporting fund managers at every stage, we help build a more inclusive, justice-centered investment ecosystem.

Just Lending Framework and Model Loan Agreement
We partnered with Lawyers for Civil Rights to host a “hackathon” with volunteer attorneys to develop model loan documents that are simplified, transparent, and entrepreneur-friendly, in line with our values of financial inclusion and our goal to facilitate capital access for entrepreneurs of color. Our objective was to create open-source documents that can be used across the industry, in Massachusetts and nationwide.
“BII’s Integrated Capital Card Game is a fantastic learning tool! It’s a creative, effective way to learn which types of capital and transaction structures work best for different social enterprises.”
