BII Welcomes Colorful Resilience to the Portfolio

We are thrilled to welcome Colorful Resilience and its remarkable founder and CEO, Mayrena Guerrero, to the BII Portfolio Family. Founded in 2022 in Springfield, MA, Colorful Resilience is a culturally competent outpatient mental health practice that centers the needs of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and first-generation communities. Under Mayrena’s visionary leadership, the company is redefining what inclusive, affirming mental healthcare can and should look like.

With over a decade of experience in outpatient mental health, and credentials that include a BA in Clinical Psychology, an MS in Mental Health Counseling, and independent licensure (LMHC), Mayrena brings both professional expertise and deep lived experience to her work. Her commitment to creating a sustainable, supportive environment for clinicians, through mentorship, competitive pay, flexible schedules, and wellness initiatives, makes Colorful Resilience not only a healing space for clients, but a transformational workplace in an industry often marked by burnout. They currently have 13 clinicians at the practice, with over 600 clients. BII’s recent investment in Colorful Resilience supports the hiring of 3–4 new licensed clinicians, which will help meet growing demand for care and prepare the practice for future shifts in the mental health landscape.

Hear from Mayrena about the impact of this investment: “The investment from BII is a transformative step for Colorful Resilience. It empowers us to grow sustainably while maintaining healthy cash flow and securing our financial future. This support allows us to expand our reach and continue providing culturally competent mental health care to the communities that need it most.”

Colorful Resilience is not just a service provider; it is a training ground and incubator for the next generation of diverse mental health practitioners, helping to expand access to care and equity across Massachusetts. We are proud to invest in this powerful model of healing, empowerment, and systemic change.
