Matthew Epperson is a solidarity economy practitioner, community organizer, and cooperative developer based in Athens, Georgia. He’s a Board Director of Hive Mind Community Investment Co-op and Shared Capital Co-op. His career spans cooperative grocery retail, credit unions, platform healthcare research, employee ownership, startup and succession consulting. Matthew founded the Georgia Co-op Development Center in 2017, and is forming a coalition for Georgia’s 1st worker cooperative legislation. He holds a Master’s of Management in Co-operatives and Credit Unions. Matthew is passionate about economic power, teaching, biking, hiking, meditation, improv comedy, and spending time with his wife, Julia, and their cats.
