Daniel Edwards is CRO (Chief Rebuilding Officer) of NeighborBuilt, the economy creation platform he and his wife Ebony founded to help cities transform distressed census tracts into high-performing relevant economies. The pair also own the nation’s only Black-owned lumberyard, Eastside Lumber, the key to economy creation. They are currently piloting the platform in the historically-Black South Vine District in Kansas City, MO, planning $2B in economic impact over the course of a generation.
Prior to this work, Daniel spent several years working for one of the nation’s largest general contractors, regional architectural and engineering firms, and private developers. He served as a mayoral-appointed commissioner through the Economic Development Commission of the City of Kansas City for the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority, Enhanced Enterprise Zones, and Chapter 353 Tax Abatement. Dan earned a degree in Architectural Engineering from Missouri S&T.
