Walther Morales Rios is an entrepreneurship and business development strategist with over two decades of experience designing programs that bridge economic inclusion, public policy, and founder support across Latin America and the U.S. He was the first National Adviser for Entrepreneurship for the government of Guatemala, where he worked under three Presidents, led the development of the country’s first national entrepreneurship policy, and helped pass legislation on entrepreneurship that served as a model for the broader Central American and Caribbean region. He also managed a $10M seed capital fund and built public-private partnerships that helped entrepreneurs launch and grow sustainable businesses.
Throughout his career, Walther has developed high-impact accelerator programs for both high-growth startups and community-rooted small businesses. His work is grounded in founder empathy, systems thinking, and long-term ecosystem development. Bilingual in English and Spanish, and with a background in political science, law, and business, he brings a cross-sector lens to advancing economic justice. At BII, he supports the GreenEdge Accelerator and contributes to the investment team’s efforts to build a more inclusive and resilient economy.
